    now answer your first question, the electromagnetic it's not so much importent for understanding antenna theory,but there are some baisc concept needed, and then you can understand what the book is talking, and then is the paper.
    Now the second question,  the concept Microwave is inclued in  electromagnetic wave. A electromagnetic wave, whose frequency is 300MHz~300GHz is microwave.

Thanks for the explanation, I met the professor a couple of days ago, he suggested a book for me : Fields and Waves in Communication Electronics. He said it is easy to understand, and this book includes most knowledge I should know. I also read the book (Antennas for All applications) that you suggested. Hope I can get through at the beginning.
